About This Series

Julia Quinn's Bridgerton series put Regency romance on the map for a new generation of readers, thanks in large part to the hit Netflix adaptation. The eight-book series follows the eight Bridgerton siblings — alphabetically named Anthony through Hyacinth — as each finds love in the social whirl of early 19th-century London. The ton, with its balls, gossip columns, and strict social rules, provides the perfect backdrop for romance, misunderstanding, and eventual happily-ever-afters.

Each book focuses on one Bridgerton sibling and can largely stand alone, but reading in publication order (The Duke and I through On the Way to the Wedding) is recommended since the family dynamics deepen with each installment. The Second Epilogues collection provides satisfying follow-ups to each couple.

Quinn's strength is her dialogue — witty, warm, and often genuinely funny. The Bridgerton siblings' family dynamic is the secret weapon of the series; even when a particular romance is the focus, the surrounding siblings provide commentary, interference, and emotional support that makes the world feel lived-in. The series is comfort reading in the best sense, delivering the guaranteed satisfaction of a well-earned romance while offering enough character depth and period detail to elevate it above formula.
